Partner William J. Zee Will Once Again Joins the Faculty at National Institute on Legal Issues of Educating Individuals with Disabilities
Partner William Zee has once again been selected to join the faculty at LRP’s National Institute on Legal Issues of Educating Individuals with Disabilities scheduled to be held in Phoenix, Arizona from April 18-21, 2021. Zee’s presentation titled Leveraging Parent Counseling and Training, will translate the theory of parental participation into a practical component of every child's IEP by demonstrating how and why a trauma-informed and comprehensive education plan requires parent involvement. Attendees will learn how to incorporate parent training and counseling into students' plans and will recognize the ways in which parental participation can facilitate as well as create barriers to student learning.
Zee serves as chair of the Education Law Group at Appel, Yost & Zee LLP. He has represented public and private schools, intermediate units and higher education institutions throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey for the past 15 years. He spearheads the Education Group’s professional development and training initiatives, with a special focus on student services, trauma-informed and restorative practices, and public-school policy. Zee is frequently sought out to lecture locally and nationally on a wide-range of school law, student service, and disability related topics.
